Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): the fish are generally active and look from the outside healthy with no visable particular bloating or thinness or lack of colour but some do flick every now and then on leaves or sometimes the gravel.

the cories show the most symptoms with some darting around for a second or so looking like they're not comfortable every now and then (i assure there is no problem with the gravel which is roman jet black smooth and small) and i've seen the halequins do it but more rarely.
a few of the cories also hover mid air some of the time with the head pointing downwards and an angle which i don't understand what causes this.
all seem to have good appetites and no fatalities for months.

i guessed at a bacterial problem or some kind of parasite which is why i used the medicines said below but a few treatments of interpet and one of sterazin the same symptoms persist which is really getting me down not knowing how to get rid of this.

suggestions for possible other treatments or more info needed please ask, i'm from the UK too, btw.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 30% every 2weeks

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: interpet number9 serveral doses and tried waterlife sterazin month or so after

Tank inhabitants: 9rummynoses 10 halequin rasboras 6 bronze cory 6 shwartzi cory filtered by a tetratec 1200

Parasites can bacterial infections.

Any fish show any of these other signs.

Opaque body with excess slime.
Greyish white colour with excess slime.
Gold dusting, rusty coloured varnish on fish, yellow golden spots.
Gasping, or laboured breathing.
Swimming in a jerky movement.
Red sores, or red pin prick marks on fish body or gills.
Spitting food out.
Red inflamed gills, swollen gills, bleeding gills.

Do you use any chemicals near the tank.
Have you changed brand in declorinator.

From what you listed i would say swimming in a jerky movement with some of the cories could be the case whilst looking pretty listless and not very energetic until feeding time comes.
The gills i would say are a little red.

No chemicals near the tank but i did change declorinator from aquasafe to stresscoat but i feel the problem existed even before i changed declorinator.

ty for reply wilder.

It sounds like gills flukes then.
Red inflamed gills.
Jerky swimming movement are signs of flukes.

You will need to treat the whole tank.
What's your location?

There sterazin by waterlife. But you have to keep treating to kill the young as they hatch. As some flukes are egg layers. So you have to do another round of meds a week after you last used it.
There wormer plus.
Also you have to use a bacterial med after you finished treating, usually after the first course is finished.
Flukes cause bacterial infections.

ty Wilder, which do you recommend?

as i used waterlife sterazin before i guess trying the other product might be better as it might be less effective next time? shame i didn't treat it for more than 1 cycle as didn't know about eggs etc.

JBL meds are pretty good.

If you use the waterlife med I would do a 2nd round of meds 10 days later.

ok i'll order JBL now.

thanks for help Wilder, you're a gem.
