If anyone if keeping up I have a 20 gallon ready to go, but I just turned on the light and it is sparkelling clean.

However my 74 never seems to be sparkeling and yet it has 600 gph of filtration

Its not going to be sparkling clean once you overstock it with all the fish you are planning on shoving in it.

How about this Miss, pick a date within the next 6 months, obligating me to post a pic or pics of the tank and see what fish have deceased or such. Are you willing to be obligated to such a bet?

my friend i think you've missed the points of many many people on this forum

I know the point, sure I migh thave one or two medium sized problems. But let's give it a try. Would be a very intresting experiment for all of us. Especially me.

I really hope you're a troll but...

74 Gallon Tank - 2 Fluval 404's
2 electric yellows, 1 Electric blue, 1 Figure 8, 2 Tiger oscars, 2 Orange cichlids, 1 yellow/black blotch cichlid

..This tank won't be clear, because you have heavy waste producers in it. Also, the figure of 8 puffer, does not belong in fresh water, it is a brackish water fish. Also, keeping Central american cichlids like oscars in with african cichlids like yellows is recipe for disaster. This tank is overstocked, the oscars won't grow to full size in this tank, and it will, as you've discovered be very hard to keep clean.

Soon to be stocked 20 Gallon- 20 G taken from 74, plus one of the Fluval 204 from main tank with media
Fluval 404 Filtration System with 150 Watt Heater by Hagen

3 Platinum Lyretail Molly, 2 Full Orange Sword Tails, 4 Green Tiger Barbs, 2 Tiger Barbs, 1 Rainbow Shark, 2 Guppies, 1 Gold Gourami, 1 Opaline Gourami, 2 Scissor Tail Rasboras

Give me a fluval 404 and a 20 gallon empty tank and of course it will be clear.

I hope you're planning an upgrade soon :)

Oh yes of course its a good experiment, to put all those fish in a small tank knowing they will grow, to put the totally wrong equasion of fish in that tank even after alot of experienced fish keepers have told you its a bad Idea. Yes to purposfully give these fish a nothing short of a horrible place to live. now thats what i call a good experiment. I know how it will end.

However my 74 never seems to be sparkeling and yet it has 600 gph of filtration

yes it will always be like this untill you take some fish out, the oscars need 55G at least and thats just those never mind all the other fish that you have in there. Why cant you with this new 20G tank at least for the time being split your tank up so the fish have better lives.

I can upgrade to the 46 thatt's in the garage. Just one problem, I can't find any place that sells a damn stand. I had one before, sold it.

take the fish to someone with the right size tank to give them a good home.

Ok fine. I did some more reasearch and figured the rainbow shark has got to go for sure. To heck with the gouramies, they like biting my finger as if it is a huge bloodworm. I might take out the mollies and get 2 more tiger barbs and 2 more scissors.

Stands are really pricey at my lfs. It's really good if you purchase one at petco or petsmart. But they seem to rarely ever have one
