I just got a new camera today! It's a Kodak EasyShare DX7630, 6.1 megapixel! :hyper: It's awesome!

Now I can finally show off all of my fish that you guys haven't seen yet, like my Angel, fry, Mollies, Bronze Corys, and my new betta, Shamus...and probably a few that you guys have already seen as well. :p

So...yeah... I'm excited! Yay! :kana:

Look for pictures of my new fishies to be put up real soon.

Excellent!
We have a kodak Easyshare too. It's an excellent camera.

We'll look forward to the pictures!

6 megapixels??? $$$$$$ :p And I thought our 4 megapixel was good  I thought the Highest was 5? Anyways, I sense great pics coming :D

lol! Wow thanks guys! Didn't know I had so much picture support.

Unfortunately I'm having a few problems with it...

I can not get it to be on macro mode and action mode at the same time. Also, it takes pretty bad action shots... It takes beautiful pictures of things that are sitting perfectly still, but things that are moving...? It's just not working too good... I'm almost missing my Cannon A80. :/ :-(

Anyone got any tips for this thing? I really wanna show off my fishies.

I'm the wrong person to ask  :*)

All I can suggest is practicing A LOT. :dunno:

Good luck

Thats my camera, I get good betta and discus shots on macro, but anything that is actually moving around I have to use a flash, but I guess practice makes perfect :p

Yeah, I hate taking pictures of my fish with flash...it totally freaks them out. I hate making my fishies unhappy.

I purchased the same camera and I have not been as happy with it as with my old 2 MP camera ... and thats bad! LOL

Well, I'm definitely not happy with it at all. The flash sucks for starters. It takes horrible pictures of my fish, and I've tried everything. The pictures that do turn out, are the ones where the fish is sitting perfectly still, and thats very rare...so about the only fish I've been able to take decent pics of are my corys. :/

As far as doing action and macro I don't think it can be done.  See macro has a slow shutter speed, and action is a fast shutter speed.  You can't have both at the same time LOL

Well, I used to be able to do this on my Canon. I got the greatest shots that way. It didn't matter if the fish was moving at high speed or not, I'd get right up to the tank and snap away at whatever I wanted.

And my final verdict...I'm either going to sell this thing or take it back to the store. While 6.1 megapixels is nice and all, it just can't do what I want it to. I'm going to get another Canon A80...great powerful camera in a little package.
