ive never seen one before? any ideas?? can i leave it there? feed it him? or can this be pretty bad?? thanks!

looks like planaria with those eyespots (does it have a sort of hammer shaped head..hard to tell even wehn i enlarge the photo). harmless and most fish will eat them. could be glassworm too in which case same thing. harmless and tasty :)
cheers

well, i just googled it and its not a planaria.....its hard to explain it really, it has 2 black bead eyes at one end then there is as you can see in the pics, areas which are like legs but just 2 black spots each side, he is very quick aswell....:( but he does look like a glass worm....hm

this is it up close!

I'm guessing you've already gathered this - it's a phantom midge larvae.

Oh, which IS a glassworm. Good old google.

It's all about the larvae at the moment isn't it?!

well, i found him in my Daphnia live food, really odd...ive got a reason to belive he (and the other 2!) may well be called Chaoborus, i noticed the link i put here has that in the name so i googled that.....however that says it may eat little critters that can fit in his mouth.....im not to sure what to do with him, probelm is when i google glass worm he looks nothing like them lol
