So, I was browsing ebay, and I ran across these two half moons I really like. I just want to buy the yellow guy SO badly, but I don't know where I would put him right now (yes, I have an extra 5g and am picking up a 60g this weekend...but I just don't know where it'd actually GO)... so, I just thought I'd share them with you guys. Have you ever bought fish off ebay? How much does it end up costing with shipping to get the fish to the U.S.? I've been skimming over aquabid.com just browsing, but I haven't seen any one guy that I've been as impressed with as this guy. Plus, if I did ever decide to breed him, how would his fry come out (obvi. dependent on the female as well, so...)and what kind of female would I look for to breed him with?

This guy's pretty:

BUT this is the one I'm in love with!

there great fish i like the yellow one to are you going to get him or not? i hope you do it will be a great fish

The betta in the second pic is...ooooooooo'lala!
How much are they selling him for and where would they be shipping from?

Gosh, I'm SO tempted to get him and make my 5g his new home, and switch my wall aquarium (a bit under 10 gallons...) into a female sorority tank. I like freshwater, but have never been impressed with the type of fish I can put in as I have a tendency to like the really vibrant fish (hence my attraction to starting a reef tank in the 60 g)...

I'm just worried that I'll bid on him, and it'll end up costing me $50 in shipping to get him here! The auction says that he'll cost 45 to ship to the trans-shipper, but then I pay the local costs...

What are those, and how do I find out?

to tell you the truth, the first guy is more my style. but the second one is unbelievable too. i would have a hard time deciding.

lol.... I'm glad I've capped myself at a limit of 2 (for the time being )

I've never heard of anyone getting a betta from ebay... but if the sellers reputation is right and you have guarantees, you have nothing to worry about. If i were looking for a new betta, I would have one of those guys in a second. (psssst... get him)

a trans-shipper receives the fist first (usually from out of the country) and then sends them to you.

Gosh, now I'm getting myself in trouble looking at all these fish. Must...resist...must...go to sleep...

Oh-- Happy Valentine's Day for you all, BTW. ;)

oh yeah.... its morning.... happy valentines day

edit: btw, get used to nights of just looking at fish for no reason..... lol

Hee hee..you could always consider him a Valentines Day present to yourself...!

:good:

(do it...do it...do it...)
:hey:

i saw these the other day on a website and all of them are just too nice, if i were the breeder i would keep the lot :good:

I dunno i think modaz would agree... the colours are great but the finnage is a bit uneven...
although other than that a bot of work and theyll be perfect

Wow, they are so pretty! I have never bought a fish off ebay but I would worry about shipping if it was a long distace away. Travel can be hard on a fish.

I love the yellow mustards colours!!!!
After discovering transhipping to UK isn't that expensive, I think I'm gonna go aquabid hunting in a few months ;) :good:
