OMG OMG....I THINK

OMG OMG So I set up my breeding tank and I had a pair in there....I had the girl in a breeding trap....I put them in there Thursday night....and the boy was building a nest but it just wasnt big...so I waited and yesterday I had to go to the boyfriends house to help his mom with her new fish (hehe Ive converted her... I figure hes next!) and when I came back the girl had jumped in with the boy! I watched for a bit...and he was really tossing her around...more then anything ive seen...so i scooped her out and put her in the breeder....I didnt think anything of it because she was still full of eggs...but when I woke up this morning I looked in to check his nest and there was this little wittle itty bitty thing falling from the nest and he grabbed it in his mouth and plopped it back up to have it just fall again...so i looked closer and I THINK ITS A BABY!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am...but I only see one...and I dont see very many eggs I think I can see three more eggs...haha so I will keep you updated!!!!!

Thanks...I decided to take a breath and not get overly excited...because this is my first spawn....so anything can go wrong...and so far...daddy cant seem to get his first fry to stick in his nest so I bet this will be a crazy one! haha but thanks everyone....of course I couldnt have done this with out you all...hope there are lots of babies to go around for everyone!

Okay okay...I dont have any pictures of mother....but shes an Opaque DR CT shes real cute....Her name is Lakasha = White rose....Shes a tad torn so when she heals ill snap some pictures (shes doing great though little piggy she is) haha okay and then the daddy is a guy I got from nashnut...his name is copernicus...not sure what his tail type is but he has CT geno from what I remember but his coloring there is no words for it....pictures wont capture his coloring....hes black white a tad bit of dark wine red and this sparkling aqua blue color hes great....anyways heres pictures of daddy

lol@ his baby (singular!) I bet there are more than that. I've had spawns where I guesstimated 5'ish and wound up with 40. I've also had spawns with one lone fry and I must admit they're an adventure themselves.

haha wuv...I can believe this one little guy will be an adventure assuming hes a loner baby (*Crosses fingers* I hope there are just a few more) I was trying to figure out how the heck I am supposed to make food just for this little guy haha at least hell have a whole kingdom of a ten gal by himself! lots of growing room haha

Well well looks like Ive got twins!!!! haha I found a second baby...so not its plural! HOORAYY!!! haha two babies....maybe by tonight Ill have three?! hahah maybe theyll be a pair?! haha

haha its true synirr I would rather have the two little buggers I have now then none...plus its a start....this is my first spawn...I didnt even expect anything really! haha so I am happy...as of tonight I checked again with my fingers crossed when I got home from dinner and a movie...and I still just got two...which is fine with me...hopefully they are a pair... thatd be aweasome!

so what should I do with them? I dont know if I will keep them in my 10 gal...when they are big enough ill probably just set up a five or something you think thats okay? since so far theres only two? haha

well I woke up this morning to find his bubblenest completely gone!! I looked everywhere for the babies and I see one on the floor of the tank....but cant really see the other one anywhere.... So I fear he probably ate one of them so I scooped him out...you think this is okay...should I just leave that little guy down there on the floor or should I turkey baster him into something smaller?

Gah, that must be frustrating- I know how excited you were to have the two of them. As to what to do with the remaining baby, I've never had this happen myself but I suspect it would be easier to move him to a smaller container so you can keep an eye on him.
