Omg. i just witnessed my 2 clown loaches attck my female dwarf gourami. The plucked her eye out her socket. and then the rest of the fish started Mauling her. Tryed my hardest to get her out tank as soon as her eye came out but i could'nt get her in time.

Omg i am so shocked to have seen this they all all been together in tank for 10 days now.

Why would this have happened?

She was fit and well

This was really disturbing

Was the dwarf ill already?
Or did she happen to be spending alot of time on the bottom of your tank, not moving a great deal before-hand?

wow thats weird, ive never heard of clown loaches attwacking other fish before

Ive never seen a Clown Loach attack a healthy fish before. If however a fish is unwell or weak its common for other fish to pick on it and kill it. You may not have seen any external visible signs of illness though.

I heard somewhere that apperently clown loaches can mistake the eyes of fishes for snails?

Yea was horrid to see. I put a piece of cucumber in earlier and one of the 2 clown loaches was attacking anyone that came near him while he was eating it. Other clown loache could'nt get some

Strange

OK couple of quick Q's:

1) What size are the clown loaches?
2) How big is the tank?

Clown loaches are aggressive fish although as DarkEntity said they don not normally attack healthy fish.

I've not heard of lown Loaches being aggressive or attacking healthy fish before.
Have a read of this to give you a better idea of their habits etc.

Clown Loach

Glad to see your planning on upgrading because long-term they will need 6 foot easily. It's very strange what you just witnessed. I would go with what other posters are saying that she was possible ill and as such, the clown loach took their chance.
