After a 3 week isolation and treatment for fin rot, Oliver has been returned to the community tank and his fins are slowly growing back.
(Also replaced an old plant thing with a new one, which I like MUCH better!)
Here's some pics...

Oliver does look well, very relaxed after his vacation. Is that apple behind him?

A little zucchini, I have a little clown pleco currently chilling in the tank. I was given him by a friend who was leaving school and had nowhere to put him. He's quite small, only 2 inches max, and she's had him for a year, so I don't know if he will get any bigger. When I move into my apartment in August I will set up a 10 gallon tank I have and put him in there. But for now, he's gotta stay in my tank or he has nowhere to go. :( I clean the tank more often to compensate for his additional waste, and everything has worked out so far.

I gave my fancies some cooked grated carrot last night they loved it!

Ugh! One day into having the new plant and Oliver gets some small slices on his fins. Should have checked the edges... :/ So I took out my trusty lighter and worked the edges of the plant so they are softer. Hopefully that ends the slices...

Oliver does look lovely!
I was just wondering if the little guy in the back of the 1st and 2nd pics was the 2 inch Clown Plec referred to, or just another one of many inhabitants in the community tank?
If the former, heaven knows I'm frequently wrong and I don't tend to get a very good picture on the puter, but that looks from here like a Panda cory, which runs about 2 inches, but would be far happier in company, once there's room.

You are correct! I have 2 cories in there, a panda and a leopard (they're so attached to each other, I love watching them shoal), along with the clown pleco. Give me a few minutes and I'll try to snap some pics. :3

Super!
I'll bet the Clown plec starts growing now, with the TLC now being received as I believe they ought to be about 3 -odd inches, and I'd worry about one at a year old being only two inches...
I was kind of hoping it had been miss-identified (not that I know anything about plecs) but it'll be interesting to find out if he/she begins to get bigger over the next few months under your care.

Here's the pics!

The BFFs.

Do you have any driftwood in the tank? Not positive, but I'm pretty sure the plec needs it. At least, that is what I have always been told.

Your fish is very cute. If you want to avoid any further damage I would get a silky plant. Those are much safer for them.

I'm in the process of buying some, just with limited transportation options and a low bank account due to college I haven't had a chance to pick some up.

Thanks. :)
Yeah, in retrospect I should have gotten a silk plant, but I'm working with what I've got right now. I bundled the stems of the plant and melted the sharp edges on them as well, so there should be no way to get any cuts now.

Just picked up a small piece of mopani wood which I am about to work with to get it to leech out as much of it's tannin as I can... I hope the little pleco likes it.

Edited to add: Woo! 100 posts!
