Bbout six months ago my only fish died due to the stress of a major move (me moving houses). During the time I had setup my tank (a 27 gallon SW)
Once my fish died I basically neglected my tank and i let it sit for the 6 months (not touchinng a thing). Water level had basically droped to half the original volume and all the equipment was turned off.
I now feel ill have the time and energy to start my tank again. So my questions are:
Do i throw everything out and start new? (not the equipment)
Can I keep my live rock? live sand?
Do i keep any of the old media?
Or can i just fire everything back up and do a few water changes and "cycle the tank"
Thanks in advance Jon
