i have a plant in my tank. After 1 month it starts to tare apart in the tank and make some brown and black spots. What may cause the problems. I have some goldies in the tank. What can cause the problem and what type of plant should i get.

What are Goldies

Your fish may not be getting enough nutrients... it may be inappropiate for your setup... Need more facts

Goldfish I guess, or are you being sarcastic...

Anyway, plants need light, CO2 (not necessarily injected, but required none the less) and essential nutrients. Provide that lot and plants will thrive. Consider if you really want to get into plants - far more difficult and expensive to keep than fish IMHO.

Hi paul_219 :)

It could be that the plants you have are not suited to the lighting and other conditions of your tank. If you have goldfish, it could also be that they like to eat them.

I'll move your thread to the planted tank section, but I also suggest that you ask about the nutrients your fish need in the Coldwater fish and ponds section.

I hope you solve your problem.

Its an artificial plant. It starts to tare apart alone. And makes some black and brown spots.

Hows about adding some artificial nutrients and pretend CO2. You should find it perking up in no time.

Sorry, I couldn`t resist.

Dave.
