Hey all,
I'll make this short. Have a breeding/parent raising pair of angels. The female isnt looking good at all. I have isolated her from the fry but to no avail. The stats are as perfect as I can get them 0, 0, 5. ph is 6.4 tank is 30 gal.

Anyway, she is just breathing heavily and completely colorless, every once in awhile gasping. I have lots of aeration in the tank via two 125 gallon sponge filters. Sits at the bottom sideways sometimes too. She is about 8-9 years old. No marks or sign of disease besides what i mentioned above.

Ive done a large water change, not sure what else to do, probably nothing I can do. Would love any advice anyone has to offer.....but I have a feeling its her time.

Ahh sorry to hear this.. Im not much help  but maybe someone else will give you some advice on anything else you could do for her.. How is she now??

Just passed about 5 minutes ago, think it was just time for her to go. She left me thousands of fry, she was a great parent raiser.

Aww so sorry...
R.I.P angel :flowers:

I wonder what the life span is for angelfish..
My female angel is around 4 year old and my male is around 2 and a half..
I will be very upset when they pass..They are my favourites.. :)

Thank you. Im not sure of the lifespan but im guessing its longer than she lived, then again Im guessing she was 8 or 9 as she was given to me by someone who couldnt house her.

Just shows you have to enjoy your time with them and the time you get to observe them because you never know. She seemed fine yesterday.

Thanks for the kind words Heather.

Your welcome Drew and yeah you never know..
Is the male with the fry?? Hope they get along well...... :good:
Yeah, he is with them for the moment. Hes a good parent too but I'll probably pull him soon to give him a break since he no longer has the females help. The fry are doing well and growing fast, thanks :)
