I just did the usual checks with the fish today, making sure they were ok and that the water temp. etc is correct. Then I cleaned the glass and noticed that towards the bottom middle section of my tank their is a break in the glass :| At first I thought 'oh it might just be some algae or some sort small scratch'. Instead its a highline break, its about 2cm long, about the length of your finger nail wide (1/10 of a mm) and I would say the same depth wise. I know its not a major break but I just wondered what I could do? I haven't got a second tank, so I can't move the fish. I was thinking about getting a new tank but the parents wouldn't allow it :/ I was wondering would I be able to fill it in somehow? Is it a major problem or will it be ok? Should I just get a new tank and then maybe repair it? Any advice would be good thanks. It is a small crack and I don't think the tank will break anytime soon but I'm just thinking long term because personally I don't want to wake up to water all downstairs and fish on the floor.

bet you anything it will break as soon as you get to uni and your mum will phone up to tell you :look:

It may just be me but if I was you id drop the water level so there's less pressure on the glass and get another tank and swap them over :good:

Yer I was thinking about dropping the water level to put less pressure on the glass. The crask itself is 2.1cm long and is situated in the bottom third of the tank which is annoying. If it was at the top I could drop the water level and it would be fine. Does any one know if these sort of cracks could be repaired?
