I have a 35litre tank, which is 9 gallons

could i seperate it into 2halves to keep my male

im assuming in doing so i wouldnt be able to keep my 4girls 2gether in one half??

seperate it so the male has a quatre...
the girls should be fine then :)

arghhh this is so difficult as i do still want to get a baby bristlenose

would it be better to sell my male and keep my 4girlies as they are?

Hi
What shape is your tank? I mean is it a standard rectangle rather than a hex or something? A 35L tank is 7.7 gallons (UK), but 9 U.S gallons.

If its a standard rectangle you could divide off say 2 gallons and this would still leave over five gallons which is "possibly" just about big enough for 4 females, but nothing else.

I'm sure if this is wrong someone will say so! :)

Forgot you had bristlenose? They'd have to go.

Also if you do split the tank, make sure there are lots of plants and stuff to give the girls plenty of hiding places in case of any bullying :good:

the bristlenose died so thats not a problem

also my L128 is being picked up monday

its standard rectangle

hmmmm im just tryin to put alot of thought in, dont want to do it and not be sure n then change my mind

what about halving it

male one side

2 girls the other?

and rehome 2

Hi
sorry to be the bearer of bad news but 2 females may lead to one bullying the other :(

You can always change it back in future. Even if using aquarium sealant, it can be removed. :good:

arghhh bugger

honest opinions

wud it be easier to rehome my male?

Have u guys ever seen like the plastic reptile cages, the cheap ones with the clip on lids

wud he be ok in one of those? or wud i need heaters etc etc

reptile tank youmean?
i keep my males in them with a heater in each......

Personally, i would get a glass tank. You can get clearseal ones which are about 12"x8"x8". I bought a 24x8x8 and it cost £16 which isn't bad. If Bracknell is as cold as cornwall, then yes he'd need a heater.

links?? for these tanks lol i need help im no good at this

or dividers

as u said, i can change it

:good:

sorry about your bristle nose...bless. those tanks are called critter keepers and yep I use them and they do get scratched but you just ditch them and get another they are so cheap! :hyper: :hyper:

I'll try to get some pics of our divided tanks that Bronzecat did. It was really cheap. You can use the black binders that you use for keeping paper together, stuck onto the tank and then use a mesh to slide down. I think alot of people use stuff from craft shops.

Here's a couple of pics of two of our divided tanks. The black divider is nothing more than a cut up wallet folder that hubby drilled holes through and then sanded down any rough bits.

Hope this helps :D
