Ok So I have a betta sorority tank and recently I lost a fish to old age. I went out and bought two new bettas and put them into the tank and all of a sudden they are going missing. I had 5 and now I have 4 and its not in the tank it disapered and now I lost another one. It didn't die It just mysteriously vanished. I have 3 now. It has a lid so what I'm wondering is "Will they eat eachother"? I know I was supposed to take them out then put them all in at the same time so hey would not fight but I wasn't thinking. Where do you think they are going. They are not hiding.

Are you sure they aren't buried under a rock somewhere? I've had this problem every time I've tried to introduce new fish into the betta sorority. One by one they will turn up missing. I don't see any fighting, but I see the torn up dead fish half under a piece of driftwood or something. My guess it that's what's happening in your aquarium, but I can't be sure.

Check your filter especially if its a hang on back or a canister filter...
I had lost 2 betta's to a hang on back filter, wondering where they went.
Found them in the tubes of the hang on back filter...

Double triple check the filter. My krib vanished for two days, and there he was, hiding in ammongst the sponge!!! Hahaha

Hi

I've had females jump out the tank when doing maintenance etc. So i would check on the floor

Or, make sure its not got stuck up in the light tube area?
