Ok, this is my last time I change my mind, I'm not going to get dwarf puffers but instead I'm getting these two awsome little fish, I'm not sure of the name but I get these guys on the 3rd so I'll get the name for them and hopfully post pics of there home comming, lol  . I spoke to the local fish store personell and asked what inviroment these guys need, in his responce he said " the are from a long-long generation of the arowana family so they don't need anything besides water and all the esentials " this saprized me because these guys don't look like an arowana at all and they are 5'' big at most, but learning all this placed me back to square one- an empty blue background tank. I'll post pictures sooner or later!!!

I really hope its not related too closely to the arrowana or your tank is going to need major extension work!!

Hey, 3 days is a long time........you could change your mind a couple of times by then.

How well do you know the guy that is trying to sell them to you? Are you sure about what he means by "water and ALL THE ESSENTIALS?" I mean what is essential for a guppy is nothing at all like what is essential for an oscar. And if it gets big a giagantic tank, with all the accessories, could suddenly become essential, too. :hyper:

If you've checked it out well, good luck to you.

be essential he ment filter, air pump, and the heater. i know this guy pretty weel so i'm sure he gots me a great deal!but i'm not sure of what he sais about the fish's relitives. hmmm! -_-

Brichards Lyretail Cichlid .....
here is the name and info on the type of fish i'm getting, the on at the pet store is a freshwater on but in a blueish grey color, here is the site for information on the fish i'm getting.........

They look like really nice fish, goldfishattack :)

For some reason the link wouldn't come up on my computer so I did a quick search and found this one too:

The one thing that caught my attention, however, was that they need hard alkaline water. You may want to check into the water in your area and see if it will be ok for them. I understand that it can be tricky to change and maintain the ph of water, but that it can be done. Well, there are chiclid experts at this forum so you can be sure you came to the right place to get advice about that!

The important thing, whatever fish you get, is that you understand its needs and can deal with them. IMHO, it is better to have a few humble guppies that live and prosper than to have the most expensive and exotic fish that struggles to stay alive.

Good luck to you, whatever you choose! :D

Inchworm,

Guppies? Humble? Hah! Have you seen the little bugs do the happy fish dance in front of your Betta, just out of reach through the glass, with that smug look on his face because he *knows* he's prettier, and tinier, and since he's not aggressive you can keep more of him?

that's not a humble Guppy
