In my 60l fighter tank i have a wierd oil on the water surface, only appeared there since i put some riccia in and its dence enough to hold bubbles under it,
I have also changed his food about a week ago to tetrabeta and started to use milafix.
How do i get rid of it?

Jake

Just float some kitchen paper on the water surface. that should remove it.

i have EXACTLY the same problem. it doesn't seem to hurt the fish but lokkd can be decieving  . any answers.

oh also don't try using kitchen paper to soak it up. it cant do it and it just falls apart.

What foods are you both feeding and how often, It is often seen when there are a lot of high protein foods being fed.

i feed him tetrabetta in the morning and about an hour before i turn the lights off.

Quite normal, i had it at first, but once changed to my fluval which has the venturi bubble thing its all gone

There have been a few threads about this - and the answers are always the same:

1 - Its not a problem - won't do any harm
2 - Kitchen Roll (decent stuff, try Bounty) will absorb it
3 - Surface agitation will also help

cool thanks guys ill sort the spray bar later on tonight.
