at the moment i have 8 platies ( various colourtions...), six endlers(my favourite, no females...), two albino loaches, one baby plec, one baby platy, and several neon and black neon tetras. oh, and one otto (had two... ), one male and two female fighters.

How are the platies getting along as a group. I would like to maybe get some for my first tank.

When you say 'fighters' do you mean simaese fighting fish because I don't think the males and females get along that great, correct me if I'm worng. Otherwise, it sounds awesome. I love platies, I'm going to get myself some soon

How big is your tank(s)? I bet your platies are great. Platies are very pleasant little fish.

the male and female bettas get along fine, i thought that it was just the males that dont get along.

the platies are mint, and they do really well as a group, if something startles them they'll all group together, but other than that they do their own thing

and its a 15 galleon tank

What sort of a plec have you got in there?

About the Platties, we started off with four, a boy and three girls. The boy (Silver) immediately decided to marry the biggest girl and has never let anyone come within about two inches of her, he's a real terrorist. We got a few more, a couple of boys and a bunch of girls and everyone paired up or toddled off on their own, but the big original female is still apparently the choice female as all the guys have had a challenge for her at some time but Silver won't hear any of it. I'll say this for him, he's loyal, he never even looks at the other girls. I have much respect for him.

They don't half breed though, we are forever finding baby fish milling about in there, they are always little platties.
