Oh No!

Hi all...

Came home today to find one of my Rummy noses dead....belly split open and his insides completely eaten through to the spine....his eyes were eaten too.

Otherwise, what was remaining i.e the outside flesh & scales looked perfectly healthy and he had a lovely red head. He was perfect yesterday evening.

What on earth could have happened?

Although it could just have died and the other fish started pecking away..

No he definitely didn't have dropsy...I know what that looks like, and I know the signs.

He was alive and very active when I went to bed last night....feeding well and shoaling.

I'm wondering did he get a shock and knock himself out on the glass or something. And then the others set to work on him...It was quite upsetting.

Oh well...I guess I'll never know what happened... Its just a real shame.

Just about all fish will eat/pick at dead fish in the tank with them.
