So yeah, I got more platy fry. I have only seen two so I doubt I will have survivors...but I hope at least one will as these little guys have some neat looking black spots. Hopefully they can stay hidden during snack time...

Can't you buy them a breeding trap or net?
At least give em a good start to life!

I saved 9 from the last batch. If I tried to save anymore i will be overstocked :( I would love to keep em all though. They are so cute, I just don't have the tank capacity :(

Sell them. Thats what Im doing with my ballon molly fry... well whats left of them

I'll see what I can do. But won't being in a breeding net too long be hurtful for them? I don't have another tank to put them in

Keeping them in a breeding trap until they're big enough to fend for themselves shouldn't stunt their growth :good:

So, I took ya'lls advice, and I have made attempts to catch any survivors. I know there are at least 5 now, one being all black :p I cannot catch the black one unfortunately, but I will get him sooner or later. I did catch three, and they are orange with black spots all over their bodies. They are soo cute!

Get the breeding net then, if you're worried about the water going round.
Congrats with the fry!

I have the net. But it still doesnt filter well, so I will use a ladle to remove water and let it refill. I did catch the black one, which I will definately keep. I am thinking I may need to rehome some of the Juvies that are about 2 months old. I am also going to have to rehome my pleco, and get a smaller species, as mine will get too big for the tank :( And the chinese algae eater (original tank members from before I knew better lol)

I hate it when you have to rehome pets :(
I bought a gold-spot pleco when I first went into fish keeping.
Pet shop owner didnt tell me how big they grow.... just interested in the money i suppose.
But he's still small...
