Well I went out today and bought a 14 gallon tank for my fry!! I am so excited!! I bought 2 live amazon sword plants and 3 beautiful silk plants. The silk ones are for my other tank. I'm running the new filter in my established tank and I've also put the new plants in the established tank too. Will good bacteria start to grow on the plants and filter in 24 hours?? That's what I am hoping for :D

And.......I FINALLY bought an ammonia test kit!! It cost a pretty penny but I feel so relieved. I'm not sure how it works though so I have to wait til my boyfriend comes home.

Well I was just so excited I had to share!! :hyper:

um, surely there must be instructions in the box, yes?
<makes encouraging noises!>
It's really not hard at all! :)

I decided to just do the simple test for now....it takes 15 mins. The other one takes 30 mins. I feel like I am back in biology class! lol :p

There are like these sensor things...really kinda cool:)

When I get a new digital camera..which I hope is REAL soon...I'm gonna take so many pics of all my tanks and post them:)

Got that big new tank and just couldn't wait huh? ;)

I know the feeling. :p

ddreams...yeah I know :*) I just bought a 30 gallon and promised my boyfriend no more tanks for a LONG time.

I already had about 15-20 fry in my other 26 gallon tank and then yesterday I had 12 more fry born in my new 30 gallon...so I said to my boyfriend either we gotta feed them to the Bettas (I just can't do that!) or we have to get a tank just for them and he quickly agreed lol

Now though had to agree with him and no more tanks for like 6 months cause it's just getting so expensive lol

Guess where the new tank is? Sitting on the kitchen counter..Oh my  Stands were just so expensive and I don't have a table strong enough to hold it. It looks good in there though..will be awsome with the light on at night!!!! :hyper:

Your own personal kitchen night light! ;)

EDIT:

I'm building a stand for my 45 Gallon and it is going in the kitchen. ;)

Yeah I can't wait to put the fish in :p

Oh I bet it will look so nice!!! Will have to take pics when your done

Congrats on the new tank, how exciting!

Remember, fish like to sleep too. Might be time to invest in a moonlight kit...

Oh no the light wont be on 24/7. I turn their lights on at about 10-11 every morning and then they go off again at about 10 every night

I'm a good Mommy to my fish

That's probably not the right name for them, let's see...

Look here for an example

I thought you are never supposed to put a tank in the kitchen because of fluctuating temperatures, and the gases which can be emitted by ovens.
