I just got a job at an all fish store and was cleaning the filters of the juvinile angels and they where nipping my hands seeing if I tasted good!It tickled. And I was giggleing and the other people at the store thought I was nuts! But after I told them it was the angelfish they understood. I love them!!!I MUST HAVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!! compared to the discuses that were squished in the corner trying to get far away from me I thought that the angels were.....Angels!And they are oh so cute! They had some babies that were staring at me and would fllow my finger that I had on the glass.ANGELS RULE!

Hello Claire.Yes,they are indeed very cute.As with most cichlids, looks are just part of their charm, but personality is what really make you love them, and angels have plenty of it.You had mentioned discus and the fact that they reacted differently to your hands,it's just their personality,I can tell you by experience that angels are more daring and really get used to you way faster than discus. Not that one is better than the other, only that they are different.

I love angels too, Claire. I have a big black marble called Clarence in one tank, who is my snail exterminator - I squish 'em and he munches . He rocks  And I now have 4 baby red angels in another tank - they are so cute and come rushing up to me everytime I go near the tank. I find myself coochy cooing them :*) but they definitely recognise my voice. I luurve my angels

oh how cute they must be!I wish with alll my heart I had some! But sadly I have only mollies and oscars which I love them VERY VERY MUCH! They are full of personality and sweetness. My mollies are food obsesed. They will not stop begging for food. And so are the baby mollies I am raiseing. My oscars could take my finger off if they really wanted to. But they know don't bite the hand that feeds you.And also they love me (I think, or maybe they love the food).

It's the food...sorry to burst your bubble :/

I have had Angels for 15 years and have always enjoyed them, they are a very strong breed of fish that just love to interact with there keepers...

If you ever have the chance to house a few ...go fo it they are long lived and really do seem to enjoy your company when your feeding them..LOL

:D

I thought they loved the food. I hope I get my oscars moved soon. I know the perfect place to buy the angels. I just hope they get pearl-scales soon.

P.S. Do angels like clown loaches for tank mates???

I saw an angel swimming in circules. I asked a person working there and they said he had a neratogical problem. I wounder does this happen often?

I bought an angelfish at the fish shop where I work. He is a 2 inch long silver angelfish. I have named him Tokis. My coworkers at the store said they can keep him in a well planted tank until I have my 10 gallon set up. Then he will be moved into a 60 gallon with 5 other angelfish that I will buy soon.Oh he is such a good looking angelfish. He is going to be such a good breeding angel! :D :)    :hyper: :* :kana:

claire :) :)

Good luck with your new fish - move him to the bigger tank as soon as you can though, as 10 galls is really too small for an angel for an extended length of time.

So if I do daily water changes he should be fine for a few months????????????

claire

You don't need to do daily water changes if the tank is well set up, cycled and all that.

10 gallons are too small for angelfish because the tanks aren't deep enough for ADULT angelfish to swimm well without dragging those long beautiful fins on the gravel and wearing them away.

A small, 2 inch angel like you described, 10 gallons will be fine for a few months. Regular tank maintenance is all that is needed, weekly vaccuuming, etc.

That is good....I just want him to be happy....And healthy.....and pretty. He is my baby. :D :D :D

claire

Hopefully he will grow up to be really pritty! He is awsome.....

claire

so...is your 10 gallon the only tank you have right now?? what are all the fish you have???

I have oscars in the 60 g that my angelifhs is going to go into and mollies in a 20g. I plan on moving the oscars into a 125 g. As you might have already heard.
