i have just passed a lfs i didnt know was even there so naturaly i paid them a visit. the owner started by showing me an article in a fish magazine that was published in 2006/7 where it stated that his shop was the cheapest and best one stop shop in the country and i thought ok maybe i have stumbled accross a real gem here, he then added that he is having work done so stocks are low at the minute. he then said any fish i can think of he could get me, so i asked him about green/orange laser corys, red striped corys he had never heard of them!!! he then took me over to his tanks with his stock in 
i have never seen stock like it. nearly all were dying or flicking about in the tank, there was deal angels stuck behind the filter that were half decomposed, a plec lying on the bottom with its eyes eaten out, another plec about 18 inches long in a tank that was about 20 inches long, and 2 large fish that im not sure what they were but breathing so fast they had no time for anything else...... you get the picture! when i asked him about them he told me that flicking is normal and fish die in the wild and nobody takes them out of the river/lake so why take them out of his tank....... at this point i walked out in disgust. i dont know if i should name them, but even people who do not keep fish could see the shops poor husbandry... they are based in leicester just off the outer ring road near braunstone, if anyone else has been there, was it this bad when you went there? i really couldnt believe it, shocking, i would be embarrased to open it to the public....

im off to buy some more shrimp from a decent supplier now to cheer myself up!!!!
