Last night over half my guppy poppulation died, and then this morning, 1 from the same tank, and 1 from my fry tank died. I have no clue what's going on with them, but I was hoping it was just in the adult tank. But nooo, a fish had to die from the tank that had my expenive guppies in it!!!!! :<
:rip:
Then on top of that, mom told me to put all my fish into a 1 gallon, unheated, uncycled bowl. It's way to crowded, way to cold, and soon to be way to dirty. The only thing I have in there is a air hose. Woopty-freakin-do. And don't even try to mention it, THERE IS NOOO SAYING NO TO MY MOM! I had to doom my fish, no questions asked. And if the sudden downfall in my mood and fish population wasn't enough, she had to go and make a list of chores to do and end it with a 3 line, dramatic threat. I'll be cleaning the house all day long so I can't keep an eye on my fish. That's the only way I can get it all done. And in case you didn't know, I have to go now.

I'm going to the fish store, no, you know what? Mom's probably going to take me to Walmart tonight to get a test kit. As if it wasn't bad enough as is! PLUS, I have no money! God I wish this wasn't happening to me!

thats terrible news, how many have you lost? :rip: think the best thing you could do is remove them into the bowl, give the tank a vrey good clean, not cleaning filter and keeping it wet, then letting the filter run and test few days later, with the bowl you'll have to do water changes every day

I lost about 8 I think. No wait, 9. Anyway, the front of the filter has some white stuff all over the front of it and alge hanging out. Are you sure I shouln't clean that? And how do I clean the tank and keep it wet? Just siphon it all out and wash off the plants?

you can clean the filter just don't do the sponge, do you have any household items that are water tight you could use? did you notice any difference in the fish that died? colour? size? poop?

Um... my largest female looked like she had finrot (she had been looking under the weather for a long time) and was a little pale, but the rest were acting and looked fin, and I turn around and their just laying there, dead.

me thinking it must be something bad for them to go down hill so fast, but unsure of what and what to reccomend. maybe make a new topic in the emergency section where you'll get move help and advice

i think u guys got it but just to let u no when u said "uncycled fish bowl" you dont cycle the tank, u cycle the filter and if you could you should move the fileter into the bowl when u move fish.
