With fire mouths I think I recall the males having the brighter colours, and longer more extended fins...That's what I'm basing it on from the pic

This is the crazy thing, that shot of the firemouth he was displaying, but when he is relaxed his top and bottom fin look really long. He is still mad at me for taking the eggs I think he see's me and flares up.

Lol well bottom line is, if it had a round tube and was laying eggs it def female.Stunning though

But..... I didnt actually see who laid the eggs, they were just there.

More eggs hatched that I thought, I lost track at about 60 They had dropped off into the gravel, I thought I had made the pit big enough.

i would say the fire mouth is female too as it looks abit rounder to me and the fin filaments aren't very long either but that bit isn't reliable anymore unless they are wild caught and sometimes thats not all that reliable either lol

they should drop around 200 eggs i think somewhere around there
