Oddity In Male Betta...

pH: Probably off the chart, at least 7.6... I was unsure if I should use pH Down?
ammonia: unknown

tank temp: 7.5 Fahrenheight

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): What looks like 1, darker prodruding bump or scale... about this color against a silver betta with black marbling. It sticks out only about the size of a pellet (smaller than an o). About have an inch or so away from gills. Fish is behaving fine, bubblenesting, flaring at female in next tank over. Noticed he ate less bloodworms today.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 100% Every four days.

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: I don't know?

Tank inhabitants: None.

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): A java fern, but he was recently taken away from a 10 gallon (no other inhabitants there either) so the Java fern was in the small tank all the time he was there.

Exposure to chemicals: None, I hope.

Water stats would be good, i would treat it as bacterial, just make sue there isn't a parasite near the bump.
Does it look hard or as though its filled with fluid.

Can't get any water stats until I get another kit, at the moment I only have pH sadly...

I would try a bacterial med then, it could be a tumour hard to say, can you blow the pic up, i would issolate the fish and try an antibiotic like tetracycline but dont use in the main tank as it will wipe the bacteria colony out in the filter, need to increase aeration with the med.
Just make sure the lump dosn't look like a cauliflower.
