Odd White Gunk?

In my 55 gallon there's some white gunky type of stuff on a peice of wood and a peice of slate. I'm just wondering what it is. The pic below really sucks but my camera does too. Anyone know what this is?

It's white, small, stringy, and hair like.

Sounds like a fungus of some type. I've heard of people getting it on their bogwood aswell. Take the slate and wood out and just wash it off, see if that clears it up.

There may be a better way of getting rid of it that someone will be able to tell you.

Can it make my fish sick? I hope not. I rinsed it off, hopefully everyone will be ok. Thanks for the help.

I don't know for sure, but as long as your fish look healthy there isnt much chance of it infecting them.

iv got it on my bog wood. it wont go away. you was it and it comes back. it doesnt cause any damage and its been there for about a year so, i think its called somrthing like angel algi or something.
