just glanced at my fish tank an noticed my bronze cory an paradise fish sharing a cave with each other, and thought it was rather cute, an rather odd. an after which noticed my sucking cat fish cleanin down my other paradise fish, could i have sometihng in my tank makin my fish behave odd, or is this normal, its not like there killing each other but just curious just incase something may develop from it that may not be good:

when you say your loach was cleaning doen the other paradise fish. do you mean he was sucking at the sides of the fish

When you say sucking catfish...you don't mean one of these do you?

Also...corys shouldn't hide, they are active fish that swim around a lot. Yours is likely hiding because you only have one of them - they are meant to be kept in groups, as they are interactive and found in relatively big groups in nature :good:.

yeh the chinese algae eater, there a type of cat fish arnt they? an yeh he just kinda skimmed over the other fish for a sec it was odd. and if i get a couple of cory's would it matter if i get say panda corys rather than more bronze corys?

Eek! D:

You'll want to do something with that Chinese Algea Eater.
Once those little brutes get big enough (as yours apparently is) they start to target any flat-sided tankmates they can and literally suck their slime coat right off [which is not only stressful to the fish, but also detrimental to their immune system].

I personally find the little things quite ghastly. x_x

EDIT: And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty positive cories aren't too picky when it comes to different variations. I'm more or less sure they'd get along nicely regardless of the kind. You'll want about 3-5 overall (I believe) if you want them to be comfortable.

take your algae eater back!. i had one and it started attacking my other fish when it was about 2" long. it is now in my mums tank with her 2 pink parrot fish so it thinks twice about going for them
taki ti back or your fish will stress out and mite die if stres related illneses.

Nope, but are similar I guess. Problem is, they get much too large for your tank, and get territorial/downright aggressive when bigger. That's all aside from harassing slow moving and flat bodied fish for their slime coat...IMO you should get rid of the fish, it's already showing signs that it will hurt the other fish later on...best act now before its too late.

I'm afraid it would matter, go for a couple more bronze corys, they much prefer to be kept in species groups, and when you keep shoals of more than one species, they stick to their own species.

The same should really go for your tetras, and it would be better if you had more than just one platy as well.

Though being a 35 l tank, I wouldn't advise it for black widow tetras long-term, and no more than maybe three platies (though being active fish, 35l is still a bit smaller than ideal).

Ditto what three-fingers said.

Cories will get along w/ eachother, but they prefer to shoal w/ their own species. We have skunk and julii cories in our 29gal tank. They all come together if they get scared, but any other time, they only stick with their own... skunks w/ skunks julii w/ julii. So I'd get more bronze.
