Last night while I was making supper my 9 yo told me that one of the female mollies "doesn't look so good". She was lying on her belly on the bottom of the tank. All during the supper preparation and after I watched her and she just laid there not really moving much. Not gasping or anything just laying there. So later that night we were planning to change water in the 10 gallon tank so we did. There was a bit of clean treated water leftover and the 20 gallon tank (where the mollies are) was about 1/4" low so I told my husband to put it in there. At the time I looked and the molly was in the same place, lying on the bottom. When he put the water in she swam around and since then has been swimming around like normal, eating like normal, etc. Is it normal for them to lie on the bottom for that long? Could she have been 'hiding' from the male (he's very amorous)?

btw we did a pwc 3 days ago and water parameters are all fine.

eta: she is not fat at all so if she's pregnant then she's not far along (doubtful as we've had them a while and no babies-I think the male is shooting blanks)

Yes, that may be the reason, an overly aggressive male. The female could have just been tired. If she's resting on the bottom with the male absent then it may be something else. Most fish at that stage don't have long, they also stop eating. If yours is eating thats a good sign its not an illness.
