I have four mollys (1m, 3f). I've had one of my female mollys for years, and got the other three about two months ago. I've only seen the male pester my original molly. This has to stress her out...I got two other females so he could spread out his pestering. Should I remove him, or try other females with him?

My other molly problem is one of the new female mollys will chase, or even "hit" the old molly with her tail. She'll be right next to the other female and start slapping her with her tail and whole body. Sometimes the old female with "slap" back.

What's going on with these crazy mollys?!?

I had the same thing happen to me. All I know is that it seemed like my original female and male became real companions, and they wanted to stick together. When I got my new female, at first the male kept driving her into a corner every time she'd try to come out. Then the tables turned, and she killed my original female, and started chasing the male into a corner all the time. Since he is my favorite fish, I ended up having to remove her from the tank. Now my male is good again, but I guess I need to get another companion. It hasn't been my experience that more than 1 female is a good thing.
