They are big round white spots about 2.5 cm in diamiter.

Bet if you looked close they are about the size of the plecos mouth.Many species of plecs are know slimecoat eaters .-Anne

The spots are fadding so I think he will be ok, the wierd thing is I hadn't even put in any meds in the tank yet.

Is it a juwel filter with a heater inside?

If so, the the white spots were almost certainly 'cooked' skin from prelonged contact with the heater.

They're fading as he heals.

Most likely the white spots are where the slimecoat was missing and are fading because its being replaced by new slimecoat-Anne

Ya Umm....He is probally crispy on the floor or in your filter. Take the top off your filter and look I can guarantee you he is 1 of those 2 places, Good Luck ~Scarlett
