Woo Hoo? I am sure the people facing increases in their council tax are not as happy.

I personally find it hard to care about a load of jumped up celebrities going on about how running will 'inspire the yoof of today' at a time when there's a lot more important issues to be thinking about.
in return for extra tax we will get massive investment.

i live near London and my kids all do sport, my eldest will be 16 at the time the games are here and intends to compete......that will be assisted by additional funnding in the mean time.......stop moaning!

T

ohh...and she dives (into water) so theres your fish link!
Your kids being into sport and weating to participate is all well and good but it does nothing for those who could not give a heck. I just think there's more important things to be worrying about. I am already sick of it being all over the tv with that stupid Heather Small's whining voice.

Another 7 years of this.

Oh and the amount of money that people will pay in hiked tax will not go back to them from the investment, it will go to corporations. Not to mention people having problems getting in and out of London when they are faffing with the lines and all that.

Paris are welcome to it IMO.

Up in here in Scotland (and all the other parts of the UK that aren't as important as London) the benefits mean very little. Sure we will end up paying for it but we won't see the good of it.

I feel quite at liberty to moan as yet again the rest of the countries money will flood into London.

Haivng said that a part of me is quite pleased but then I'm an idiot!

Mmmm lovely green fields out this way. :D

sorry bloozoo, couldn't resist. i do feel for you london lot, i haven't been south of enfield since the congestion charge came about. £8 to drive your car on the road, sod that.

Why don't we have an Off Topic forum on TFF? The other fish forums I go to do. I like you all around here, so don't say "Go to the others then"

There is more to life than fish. At least, that's what I have been told.

Venture way down to the "Announcements, Suggestions" section on the main forum page and you'll find the answer ;)

i think there used to be a general chat area, doesn't seem to be there now.

oh well guess we'll have to keep posting in the wrong place then...

:fish:

edit: bloozoo, oh yes i see what you mean. i'm of now, dont want to make a name for myself as a trouble maker. :fun:

I have two views on hosting the olympics.

My personal view is:- I get totally bored with it and as it appears to dominate every channel while its on am forced to watch it or turn the TV off. I also would not like to be anywhere close to London when this thing kicks off so feel very sorry for all living down that way.

Social View:- Hosting a major event like the olympics will make work..work gives people the oportunity to make money...money gives people choices in life and builds the economy. Businesses prosper and again take on extra people to handle the increased workload.

Hey thanks for the sympathy Breezer !

BTW.... that business that it's creating etc. etc. will also hugely inflate all the (already hideously outrageous!) prices in London. If again such a thing is possible :/

I'll stop ranting now.... -_-

As a New Yorker, I have to say what a lot of us have been saying. That is, "Lots of luck, London! We don't need all the trouble it would bring." It's been nothing but a political thing so far :shifty: and it wouldn't be likely to stop if we won it.

Now, sorry, but I have to close this thread now. :/
