hi in my community tank (see siggy) i have a pair of convicts both appear to be male (no orange shading)
also in tank were a pair of firemouths the larger of the 2 firemouths kept chasing the convicts and smaller male firemouth yet i came home today and 1 convict is minding his own business yet the 2nd slightly larger convict has kinda claimed a vase/urn ornament for himself yet i have been told that you can have 2 males in the same tank aslong as no females are there to.
he dosent bother the other fish in my tank but if the other convict or firemouths go near it he charges em i have removed the 2 firemouths to their own tank and the female firemouth stopped chasing the male so they getting on now.
but im not sure if any of my fish have laid eggs. the paradise fish keep making the nests but no spawning as yet.
also i noticed in 1 forums that convict n firemouths enjoy earthworms which i tried today the large female firemouth snapped it up straight away i was wondering would they maggots?? as i go fishing now n than and was thinking what i dont use as bait my own fish can have.
but on the bottom of my heater i have what looks like giant snail eggs or air bubbles between 10-30 of em i know they not snails they as they to big so if anyone can help me with wot the bubble things might be or as to why the convict has suddenly started going nuts for no reason i would appreciate the advice.
P.S. the urn is bout middle of tank the heater and bubble/eggs are on the heater at side of tank none of the fish have been fanning them or owt like that so im stumped.
