Hi,

I set my CO2 up yesterday evening, I have used the nutrafin stabiliser/activator in there and placed it above the diffuser as i've read.

I have come down this morning, and it still is not working after 15 hours.

Any ideas why?

Double check all connections. I assume you used regular table sugar and followed instructions to the letter?

What temp. was the water when you added it to the sugar etc.? Around 30C is ideal.

You should see bubbles after an hour or so.

When the sachets run out then replace these with dried yeast and bi-carbonate of soda. They are much cheaper and just as effective. You can use more yeast for more CO2 output (but for less time).

Thanks George.

I have just checked all connections. Yes, I tested water temp and was Just under 30C.

I'll try the yeast today, i just used regular sugar.

The nutrafin stabiliser/activator packets aren't much use. I had the same problem with mine, so since the first attempt i've been making up my own mix. A lot of people dont have success with those nutrfin packets.

I had similar trouble the first time I used mine, it took about 24 hours to start bubbling. On the first refill, It was bubbling in under an hour! Maybe it had run-in by then! :S

Also make sure the water you add is about 25C, and it's worth giving it a stir, before putting the top on. Also, make sure it's kept at about 20C (room temp). The yeast needs to be at this temp to work. The yeast will not work as effectively at lower temps. Try putting the bottle in a pair of socks or similar.

HTH!

i have got it working, how many bubbles should it be releasing?
