I have a small shoal of aggressive tetras which are upsetting the balance of my tank. I would like to take them out and move them, the problem being they are extremely quick and my tank is planted (lots of hiding places). Any ideas how I can net them without uprooting half my tank and in an efficient way so as not to upset them too much??

drain the tank so there's only enough room for all the fish to swim/breathe (2 inches or so)

....will make it a lot easier as they will have no vertical space to manouver in!

As suggested, drain the tank, or if you have a divider or piece of plastic etc as wide as the tank you can try to herd/separate them to one end of the tank. Get someone else to hold it if need be. I eventuslly caught 8 danios when I gave them about 8" square to move in
