Not Sure Where To Start :)

Hey,

I'm new to these forums and as i wasnt sure where to start i thought this would be a good place!
My name is Gina, I'm 19 and i've recently (within the past few months) bought my first tropical aquarium complete with fish (see sig).
So, tell me a bit about yourself? how old are you? how long have you been keeping fish?

Hi Gina and welcome to the forum.

From looking at your signature, you have a lot of big fish in your tank. I know you probably got them all before joining here. What size tank do you have? The silver shark and clown loach will both get a foot long and the pleco will get to 18" (if it's a common pleco). For the fish you have, you will probably need at least a 55 gallon tank.

One other thing. I see that your group shows validating. Go to the email you received when you registered at TFF and click on the link to validate your membership. Otherwise you will only be able to post in the Newbie section.

hiya im laura. have been keeping tropical fish for about 6 months now and had coldwater before. any advice you need just ask cuz they are so helpful here

Im Kev, 20 year old, been keeping fish for a week, been reading about them for a month I think you will really like it here. if you have any questions ask, i dont think there is anything that will stump the people here... ive tried lol. Hey, My tank is around 30 gallon, When i first bought my silver shark / Clown loach / Plec, I was advised that none of them would grow bigger than 5"
After buying them and doing further reading etc. I understand my tank is gonna quickly become far too small for them and im sadly gonna have to sell them as they get bigger. Its a real shame but i guess you just find out these things through experience!

Also i've requested they resend my validation 3 times! lol Its silly, its been over 24 hrs now and no e-mail

I thought that same as you, was awaiting my email response then realised I had given my hotmail address rather than home address Hope you havn`t done the same

I am in the same boat as you also, I have bought a Bala Shark and I have 2 Plecs, all of them it sounds will grow too big for my tank.

What happened to the old saying that " Fish will only grow to accomodate thier surroundings " or something like that

Hopefully it will be sometime before we have to sell them though...and in this time we may bet bigger tanks

It's hard to tell what may have happened. Try sending an email or PM to either wetwetwet or Inchworm. They are the mods for the Newbie section and should be able to straighten it out for you.

I solved my problem obviously there was a problem with my old email address, so i opened a new account
and gave my alt e-mail and here i am problem solved
