We thought we had two female platies and a male but we've discovered that we in fact have two males and a female. We don't want to part with them as we've grown attached. We're worried if we get the ratio thingie going that we'll have to get another three females for the two males. Neither of the male platies seem to bother the female, its just one guppy that keeps chasing her lol. Do you think we'll be ok just keeping the ratio we've got as we wouldn't want any fry to be honest cos we wouldn't know what to do with them x

I have 2 male guppies that chase one of my females all the time but it doesn't really bother her anymore. She has hidding places:p

Well, if the males don't bother her then I think that ratio would be fine! Chances are you ARE going to get babies no matter what though. That's just what fish do. If you really don't want the babies you get, you could just let them get eaten by the adults or you could give them away. I'm sure there's someone in your area who would like them:)

yea that's what i do. some people think it's wrong but it's good protein for the adults and that whole darwinism thing doesn't sound to bad to me

Oh my god, I don't know if I could bear it, do they look like fish when they come out x

How many gallons is the tank and what fish and how many do you already have in it?
You should really get more females, the males may not be paying that much interest in the female right now, but this is most likely due to something like the female being pregnant- when she's near to giving birth, the males will harrass her non-stop which will be very stressful for her.

Its a 70ltr tank, there are..

4 guppies
3 platies
3 neon tetras
5 glowlight tetras
2 albino coreys
1 plec

The female hasn't changed in size at all I'm sure she isn't pregnant x
