I have two black Mollies (and various other fish) in my 28 gallon fish tank, and suddenly, this week (tank has been established with no problems for nine months now) , my black mollies have big white spots on them. They seem to be acting okay still. All the other fish in the tank are fine, too.

We've also had a recent surge in baby mollies, tons born every few weeks and they just aren't getting eaten, I now have about 20+ babies in various stages, I haven't a clue what to do with them! Are they affecting the water at all because there is so many? I've been testing the water, ammonia levels are fine, Nitrates are a bit high, so I'm doing regular water changes, also adding a bit of salt (recommended to me by someone else, don't know if I should be or not?).

How do I know if it's ICK or a fungus or just an injury and how do I treat it before the rest of my tank is affected?

you should treat them riht away! before it gets too late.

Ich looks kinda like salt on your fish. They also scratch by rubbing against things. Fungus is usually white and fluffy.

No, it doesn't look like salt, it's one big spot. How do I treat the fungus?

I am sorry to jump in on this tread but I am at my wits end my tank has developed white spot I have lost 20 fish up to now, I have started to treat with Waterlife Protozin I am on day two I know I have to give another dose tomorrow and a dose on Saturday, What I need to know is after Saturday when do I start to dose again? do I do a Water change before starting again, how long does it usually take to start working?, I have turned my temp up to 29c as well, I am gutted I don't know what to do please can someone help, once again I am sorry for jumping in on this thread.
