I had my water checked last night everything seemed perfect except the amonia and nitrate, had a friend test it for me, getting my own test kit when I get paid on the 6th. I can't remember exact numbers but this is the colours on the charts.

Amonia was the second colour on the scale ( the second colour from 0 )
And nitrate was the second colour on the scale ^^

Nitrite was as low as it could be displayed, PH was between 6.4 and 6.8 so PH was perfect for the fish I keep.

I was wondering if it was I am able to treat a sort of cottony fungus 2 of my emperors have eveloped and still treat the water with the cycling solution? I have read posts and sites that say some fish meds are effected by the cycling solution but the stuff I have does not say I can or cannot use it with the cycling solution.

Also I am wondering how my amonia and nitrate can be a little higher and the nitrite can be virtually 0, I thought it was a process that amonia was eventually broken down to nitrate.

The same friend keeps Koi carp and was wondering how to keep his PH at a rough 7.2 - 7.4, if any of you guys keep Koi info would be much appreciated.

Although I have never kept Koi, the brand of the testing kit would assist.........they all measure slightly differently..........was it a strip kit or actual water and test tube kit?
