Last night my wife was looking closly at our guppies and she calls me over to ask me if a particular one is pregnant and sure enough she is. I continued to watch them for a while and I noticed a second one pregnant! Has anyone else had this happen to them before?

I guess I will be having some fun shortly!

Any type of female livebearer that you buy is pretty much guaranteed to be pregnant!

And if you didn't know already, even if you seperate the females from the males they can keep having fry for months as they have the ability to store sperm/fertile eggs!

Better start making some plans you're going to have hundreds of fry within the next few months!

A cheap and easy way to make fry food is to grind up regular flakes with a motar and pestle until they're nice and fine, that way the pieces will be small enough for the fry to eat.

I was already prepared to have one preg and bought a net breeder I guess I will need 2.

Could they even be pregnant if they were in a seperated female tank when I bought them?

Yeah, it's possible unless you know for sure that they've never ever ever been near a male, and let's face it you've got 2 female guppies from a "female only" tank, kind of gives you the answer really, doesn't it :p

That is unless you've got some boys in your tank!
