I started my 55 gal tank over about 20 days ago now. I started a fish in cycle, as I have a rather large pleco and did not have a proper temp home for it.

I dosed for one week with 'stability' per directions.

I have been doing water tests every other day, and I have yet to pick up any spikes. Did the stability jump start the tank that well to where my bacteria is enough to take care of the pleco? I have been feeding it roughly once every three days and every time i do it makes quite a mess, so i dont think its an issue of not having enough waste for the bacteria.

Would I be ok to add a few more fish to it... or would it be best to wait for another week or so. I do have an extra piece of filter in a cycled 10gal tank. speaking of that, how long would be sufficient to say that piece of filter is cycled?

I'm starting to believe these bacteria bottles actually work when used properly!

my test results for the last 20 days have been:
ammonia, 0
nitrite, 0
nitrate, somewhere around 10 or so
Ph, around 8.3

I find it a little difficult to match colors sometimes, especially the Ph and nitrates. Im fairly certain that they are around the numbers posted.

I realize this. It just struck me as odd because i started over completely from scratch. I was expecting to see some sort of spike. I guess the stability worked that well...

well i guess ill add a few more fish and keep an eye on it for a week or two and see how things go.
