Not Again Arghhh, Same Problem Diffrent Tank

Added a new CT to my tank and put him in the end section where my red VT has always been..

Within 1 day he developed white stuff round is mouth (not cotton like) just like a drying up effect..

He died today, all the toher fsh in the tank are fine..

This happend not long back with my tank full of females and wiped them all out, i know i ant passed the disease from tank to tank cos all tanks have sperate nets, buckets, etc...


This is really annoying cos i dont know what it is..

Anyone able to help?

False name mouth fungus, true name flexibactor columnaris.
I would preform some water changes on your tank

waterchange was done, all tank readings fine, all other fish fine...

The crowntail died today, unfortunatly.

I have taken all the possible actions to help prevent this further, thanks for reply wilder.

Meds for columnaris in the uk are myxazin and pimafix used together.

Isnt any of my interpet meds good enough? if not i can buy the meds you suggested off ebay.

You can use anti internal bacteria med and pimafix for columnaris.
The finrot and fungus med by interpet is no good on columnaris, used it myself.
There is a jbl med but it can wipe the bacteria out in your filter it called fluranol

I have already used the internal bacteria med, so if this does not seem to work, il get the first 2 u suggested, thanks again wilder

If its a really bad strain of columnaris uk meds are not strong enough to get rid of it.
