I have a 3-week old planted 10-gallon freshwater tank that's been cycling beautifully with 3 small Zebra Danios. They're active and curious, just like I've read they should be. The tank's temp has been a steady 76-78 degrees, with no ammonia or nitrites (based on home test kits) and a pH of roughly 7.5.

Two days ago I bought a Siamese Algae Eater to munch on some of the algae that's starting to grow on the glass, driftwood, and plants (Java Fern) and to add movement to the bottom/middle of the tank. This species was the recommendation of the pet store clerk over my original choice of a Cory catfish or a small (and wouldn't get bigger than 4") pleco.

The SAE is alive two days later, but he constantly hides under the driftwood where he's completely hidden from view most of the time. I've seen him out in the tank only twice and the Zebras just ignore him, so he's not being harassed. Should I get another SAE to make him feel more confident? Is it normal for SAEs to be so shy? Thanks in advance for any info or advice!!
