A few times a day I have spotted my one female swordtail go after my male swordtail. Is this okay? ???? The male has already mated once with the one female. Could she just go back after him to tell him to stay away or could they just be playing? My thought was they were just playing. Anyone else able to help sort out this situation would be greatly appreciated! :thanks:

:fish: :fish: :fish:

She is telling him to back off, whether it is because she does not want to mate, because she is about to give birth, or possibly some other reason. As long as there isn't fin nipping, I wouldn't worry too much. The male will continue to approach her, because like most males, he is persistent.

Okay so I just saw yesterday that she has eggs in her! Should I take the male away and separate them or leave him in with her? He's been trying to mate with her today again.
