is it normal for just one or two guppys to like to hide out while everyone else swims around, my male guppy and ocasionaly his fav girl are always behind the log next to the heater, the tanks running around 78 degrees, and yesterday levels were A-0/NI-0/NA-20/PH-8.2 yea i know ive got hard water, cant do much about it. ive got to check the levels again tonight and he does come out to eat food and scrounge all food possiable off the gravel, and he also seems to get pissy if any one but his fav girl goes back to his spot.....is this normal for a guppy?? hes not gonna die or something on me? he looks fine just likes to hide.

Is the female pregnant? I have guppies who do that. Usually when the female is about to give birth though. The males (and females too) like to hang around to eat the fish and/or mate with her once she's done giving birth. If that isn't the case they could simply be mating. As we speak I have a pregnant female guppy hanging in the corner by the heater with about 3 male guppies and, a female guppy, and a female platy hanging around her. She's gonna give birth soon! LOL Good luck. Hope you find out what they are up to.

well I found about 8 fry the other evening so I think you were right:)

I caught 4 and got them into the fry tank, but the other 4 are eluding me, so they can try and hide if they want to, cause I am not chasing them around the tank for hours.

but yea I finaly have guppy fry:)
