Normal Behaviour?

I noticed that my female German Blue Ram was shaking herself on the substrate. It looked like she was physically trying to make a crevice. The egg sack has also re-appeared on her.

So my question is, has this fish lost it's mind or is this the normal behaviour of a GBR?

The egg sack is an energy store attached to a fry which it lives off before it is big enough to feed.

Are you talking about her ovipositor, which is the egg tube which can poke out of the vent region ?

If so, then it sounds like she is in breeding mood.

My male Bolivian Ram is also doing this in the substrate whenever the female comes near. Funny thing is there is no breeding rock near. I saw them doing this a couple weeks ago but no eggs resulted.
