i have a betta in a modified 3G bowl.

its acting strange for the past couple of days it just circles the bowl with these reflexes now and then and suddenly calms down and just sits on the bottom ,is this a normal behavior of a betta.

some one please help i am worried

is the bowl heated and filtered...if not filtered do regualr waterchanges!!!! and they need to be heated (you can easily find a small heater for that size bowl-fairly cheap too)
mine zoom around for a while and then rest...to regain their strength to just zoom around some more. if other wise eating well (assuming filtration) he's probably fine.

It seems normal. My betta does that sometimes too. He seems to have a lot of energy and then suddenly he gets bored and just rests at the bottom.

Hi
If its a round bowl, some fish get freaked out by what must be a weird reflection of themselves

Yeah. Depending on the betta, rounded corners in a tank (or a bowl) can cause some darty/erratic behavior. The actions may subside after a bit if this is the case... but as a general rule, you don't want your betta to have a constant reflection.

How long have you had the betta?
Filtered?
Heated?
Maintenance schedule?
Any sign of possible infection (I'm thinking along the lines of Ich)? --- lots of labored gill movement?

Answering those questions may give us a better idea of what is going on.
