It's a very sad day :( Our young little female ram who had spawned once before, has died. She spawned with our male once, then tried again and ended up depositing unfertilized eggs all over the tank and now eventually seemed to become egg bound and is now dead  You could see what looked like a vein on her underbelly, which I've never seen before, so it was probably due to the pressure of the eggs. Again, the male was interested before she was ready with eggs, and once ready, he ignored her. He'd picked on her before, but didn't even go near her this time. She was perfectly happy and healthy until 2 days ago, when she kept hiding behind the wood and he stayed away from her. It's very upsetting, she was so friendly and tried so hard to have babies with him :byebye: Even our kids are upset.

im sorry to hear about your ram, my uncle has 2 in his 55gal and they have lovely personalities,i was thinking about getting 2 for my 50gal because they are lovely fish and would be great to watch.

:rip: little ram :-(

Same happened to my female, she was laying eggs constantly and male was fertilizing them but never hatched. She died after awhile and now the male is in my community tropical tank and is doing fine. He is the boss of the tank and chases the fish away when he wants to be in that part of the tank

Thanks everyone  Our male is now in the big community tank with our other little ram female, but they just hang out, don't think we'll get any eggs from them. But at least we still have them and they make the tank look so lovely with their beautiful colours. :)
