Evening all,

As mentioned in my introduction thread I am setting up a Jewel 180 ltr tank as a replacement tank for my fish which are currently in a 80(ish) ltr tank.

I have now got the fluval 205 filter running on the big tank but rather than waiting for the tank to cycle, can I get away with putting all the filter media from the small tank into the 205 and then add the fish to the tank?

All the water in the 180ltr has been in there about a week and has had de-chlorinator added also.

Thanks in advance

Cheers,
Matt

Yes, you can. Alwaystry to think of your filter media as being paired with the fish, rather than the filter or the tank.

Thinking of it that way makes things much easier; if you want to move half your fish, half the filter media has to go with them; all the fish, all the media.

You're welcome :)

It's always better to ask if you're not sure of something :good:
