Hello everybody! Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. Im 22, and a culinary student. I love photography, laser tag, WoW and ofcourse, animals! Heres my fish info: I have 3 fish. One calico telescope eye goldfish named Cuervo, one black moor named Admiral (Nelson), and one double tail halfmoon male betta named Adam west. The goldfish live together in a chi (way too small i know :( but we do extra cleaning) with a heater and filter. Adam West lives in a planted, heated, filtered 5g with a couple amazon swords, a java fern and a marimo ball. He also has a cave, a betta log, and a pirate friend! I also have a 12 year old yellow lab named Zoie and a 2 year old "mini" lop ear rabbit (i say mini in quotes because he is HUGE). His name is Oliver but he usually answers to douchebunny or DB for short lol. So there you go! I want to be a good fishy mom so ill be around a lot!

Hello and welcome! If you want to be good to them then start by rehoming your goldfish! It doesnt matter how much cleaning you do, the size of the tank will stunt them and kill them. Also why do you have a heater for them?

Good morning and welcome to the forum! :good: If you want to be a good fishy mom, get those goldfish into a bigger tank! Stunted fish are unhealthy fish. Sorry to be so negative, but they really need a bigger home!

I know :( and they have a heater because i live in the basement and have an air conditioner that is on a lot, and though they dont "need" it, they seem much happier with it. and im working on the bigger tank! we just dont have much room :/ what size would you suggest?

Maybe a 16 or 20 would be good for 2 goldfish and that would give u room for some other fish or a 3rd goldfish

I'd go for atleast a 30 gallon for the two goldfish and a separate 10 gallon for the betta. No heater with the 30 gallon and a heater in the 10 gaallon for the betta. Even with the air conditioner on, it's not too cold for the goldies, unless it drops below 60F.

it drops below 60*. lol

And the betta is in a separate 5 gallon and is housed on my desk at work, so i cant go any bigger. but he is the only one in there so he has room.

If the air temperature goes below 60F in your house, I feel sorry for you. Turn the air off. My furnace comes on at 65F!

We like it cold at night lol, its on purpose. that's why i thought to buy them a filter ;) also, the furnace is not hooked up to my room as i live in the basement, so my AC doesnt affect the rest of the house (though everyone in my house has the ac running at night, and we live in new england so its colddd!)
