what size tank do you plan on getting, along with WHICH carpet plant there are many.... Once i find this out i can help you. untill then sorry

i was thinking 20 gallon for the tank

and i liked Hemianthus 'Cuba', HC what do you think

20 gallon is quite spacious.I suggest getting some small-but-hardy fish like guppys or corys. Both really hardy fish and both very amusing to watch :D

Im a little tight on space so i may go 10gallon is that to small

I think it would be to small to house the cory's but you might be able to house maybe 2 or 3 male guppys and some other fish but I'm not certain

I have also heard pristella teras can be nice and they require 10 gallons

I don't know of any carpeting plants that aren't very demanding. Some of my favorite easy to grow plants are:

cryptocoryn wendtii (this comes in several different colors)
java moss
java fern
valisnaria (slightly more demanding, but one of my all time faves)
duck weed (some people hate this floating plant--it truly grows like a weed, but i love it!)

Good luck!

in a 10 gallon tank its going to be easy to get the wattage that hes going to need, wisteria "if you have enough lighting" would look amazing. once you start to think about lighting let us know!
